In 2020, while the COVID-19 pandemic had shut down most live music events and venues, long-time friends and former bandmates Dan O'Reilly (keyboardist) and Matt Kieffer (drummer) started to get together again in Dan's basement to play music together, as a way to have some sense of social connection.

Dan had been trying out some new things with visual projection that he believed would differentiate them from other cover bands. But they knew that a high-tech show wasn't enough. The quality of the performance, and execution of the songs, needed to be as top-notch as the visual spectacle or it wouldn't work.

In the Fall of 2020, they added Scott Bennett, a multi award-winning vocalist, as their front man. And a short time later, Shane Meeker, a prolific and versatile lead guitarist, joined the band. The chemistry between the four-man band was magical from their very first jam session. They knew they had something special. And thus, Abe's Lincoln was born.

In late 2021, the band welcomed a fifth member. Brad Boerger, a seasoned local musician and long-time acquaintance of Dan and Matt, added a second guitar as well as bass, harmonica, and backup vocals.

Then in the Spring of 2023, Shane's son Spencer Meeker, a multi-talented bass player, was welcomed into the band.

Although Abe's Lincoln is in its infancy as a band, its individual members are all passionate players and performers who bring a lifetime of talent and charisma to every show they perform.
